Come together with fellow Womxn’s March participants to donate new or gently-used clothing items in support of Don’t Shoot Portland and WomenFirst Transition & Referral Center. Don’t Shoot Portland builds power and advocacy for community and will be collecting children’s clothing and other items for foster youth in conjunction with its Reclaim MLK march. WomenFirst helps women to rebuild their lives and self-worth and will be collecting materials to support that work.
Neither organization is a charity and consists of passionate citizens who seek to do the right thing and account for systemic failures that oppress communities, in particular BIPOC communities. In addition to donating clothing, we encourage you to make financial contributions to Don’t Shoot Portland and WomenFirst as well and to support their work through your time and engagement.
On Saturday, January 19 from 2-5pm, at Columbia Cottage in Columbia Park (4339 N. Lombard, 97203), we will be sorting the clothes and items collected during the week and also preparing to march in solidarity with Don’t Shoot Portland on Sunday, January 20.
